CPD helps ensure that CII qualified members have the knowledge
and skills necessary to succeed in a competitive market. It can
- Build public confidence and credibility
- Achieve career goals by focusing on relevant training and
- Respond to change by continuously updating skills
- Improve productivity and efficiency by planning action address
acknowledged gaps in your knowledge and experience.
The CII's qualified member CPD scheme provides a practical
framework for ensuring development is addressed in a structured way
to meet your personal needs, the needs of your employer and the
requirements of the CII as a Chartered professional body. The
scheme is designed to ensure qualified members remain competent and
up-to-date and to separate them, as a member of a profession, from
the mass of insurance and financial services practitioners.
The scheme caters for all qualified members, irrespective of
their specialism, discipline or geographical location.
In July 2012 the CII introduced an enhanced hours-based
qualified member CPD scheme, demonstrating its commitment to
providing innovative and comprehensive solutions to meet the needs
of the profession.
To aid members with their CPD needs the CII delivers a vast
programme of support through the Faculties, Knowledge Services and
the local institutes (see these benefit sections for details).
This takes a variety of different forms including:
- podcasts; and
- live debates.
The diversity of the offering enables the CII to support
members' CPD requirements, wherever in the world they are, and
whenever it is convenient for them.
